My dogs (55lbs and 65lbs each) LOVED this bed AFTER I took the waterproof liner off. I tried to entice them to lay on it with the liner on, but they would take about 2 steps on the crinkly liner and hop right off. After taking the liner off, they lay on it most of the day every day. It’s a bit tough to get the cover back on after a wash, but that is largely due to the increased friction from the pad itself since I don’t use the liner. I’ve had it 2+ years now and both the pad and cover have held up extremely well.
Seems like an excellent dog bed, too bad my 1yo labradoodle doesn’t like it! I will keep it around for awhile and maybe he will grow to like it esp as he gets older and heavier. He still has some growing to do
I purchased this dog bed for my 8 year old German Shepherd who is a big part of my family. She has problems with her legs, no hip displasia, worn knees, she is overweight so have her on a diet. A few days ago she came into the house and went straight for her bed then came back to the dining room, not very happy. One of our cats was on the bed. I took my GS to the bed and told her it was her bed hoping the cat would move. The cat was happy where it was and had no intentions to get off. My GS just tolerates cats, so I had to physically move the cat to the sofa explaining why I was doing so and then my GS went on her bed. She even likes to eat her meals lying on the bed so I am well pleased with it. I appreciate the support she is receiving as it is a sturdy bed, not flimsy or sagging. I am hoping to get one for the back seat of my van as she lies on the back seat and it is not very comfortable I am sure, but I do not know if I can get a size appropriate. I put her old bed which is flimsy on top of it so she won’t dirty this one as she likes to eat on the bed.
Used for an old dog. Old dog said it was good. He thinks you should buy this bed for your old dog so he/she can get a good night’s sleep too.
My Rottie puppy is a serious chewer and I was concerned that he would damage the swede cover but it’s much tougher than expected. I watch him and give something else to chew if he starts on the bed. He loves his bed and it’s easy to move to other locations with him. I also like that it’s totally made in the USA so I don’t worry about chemicals used in manufacture.
